About
I’m Pam Loring. Writer & Editor

When I’m not editing or copywriting, I write fiction. With excerpts from novels in progress, I’ve been awarded residencies from Monson Arts (2019), Turkey Land Cove Foundation (2022, 2017, and 2015), C-Scape (2015), Ragdale (2013), and the Edward Albee Foundation (2012), all of which have proved invaluable to me in my growth as a writer. In 2022, I received a grant from the Barbara Deming Memorial Fund and a Michael Kenneth Smith fellowship from Porches Writing Retreat. I remain grateful to have been a part of Grub Street’s Novel Incubator program in 2016-2017.
Inspired to provide women writers the same opportunities these amazing organizations have provided me, in 2015, I, along with Anna DaSilva and Deb Parsons, founded the Salty Quill Writers Retreat for Women with the mission of offering women writers what I believe are fundamental ingredients necessary to engage and strengthen their creative process–unlimited writing time, a beautiful private setting, author-led workshops, chef-prepared meals, the company of fellow writers, and the opportunity to share and critique new writing.
I am also available as a private creative writing coach and tutor with kids of all ages.
For years, I worked in the publishing industry in various capacities: as a magazine editor, a small-town newspaper reporter, a copywriter for websites, retail catalog companies (fashion), and proofreader of everything from financial publications to advertisements. Throughout, I’ve used my skills to help build and support various non-profits, writing groups, and creatives. Writing, sharing work, and providing and receiving feedback make writing communal work—an activity and endeavor that carries hope by broadening the wealth and diversity of voices in this world. What’s more rewarding than helping us all listen to, learn from and understand each other?
